The mythology surrounding Paganini

Breaking a string during a concert must be the nightmare of every violinist, but Paganini is reputed to have caused this deliberately. He is reputed to have partly filed strings so that they broke, and continued with the concert after the break. He even managed to play the "Witches dance" on a single string.

Because he was a genius. When preparing a piece, you physically memorize the patrons, the moves, so, at the moment of playing it, this is almost automatic. If you are unlucky enough of having a string broken during the interpretation of the piece, then all the study disappears and you need to focus on making the violin sound as supposed with this new limited situation.
That's impossible to many included me jeje.
Paganini was a genius.
