This course explained the two of the six speech/phonological patterns to prioritize when working with toddlers with speech intelligibility issues – teaching a toddler to use a variety of syllable shapes and to change vowels from syllable to syllable. Clinicians learned to explain to parents why these patterns are important to speech development and how to determine if their toddler uses these patterns in spontaneous utterances. Early target words and activities were reviewed for teaching both patterns to toddlers.
